Say YES to God,
YES to Catholic Education

"What kind of world are we leaving our children? What kind of children are we giving our world?” –Pope Francis

The future of our community and our Church depends on the children of today becoming the leaders of tomorrow. With all the changes in our society, it is important that our young people are educated in the values and faith of the Catholic Church, so that we have quality leaders in the global community. Catholic school tuition can be expensive, and not every family that wants to participate always has the financial means to do so.

In order to grow and serve the children in our parishes, we have created the FIAT Catholic Schools consortium, a collaboration of 6 Catholic Schools along with 11 parishes in the South Bay Region of San Diego that are working together to provide quality Catholic education. Our goal is to partner with parents in our parishes to nurture the heart and mind of every student so that they live, learn, and serve with the compassion of Jesus. Participating schools include: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, St. Charles Catholic School, St. Rose of Lima, St. Pius X, St. Michael Academy, and Mater Dei Catholic High School/Juan Diego Academy. Parishes participating include: Corpus Christi (Bonita), Mater Dei (Chula Vista), Most Precious Blood (Chula Vista), Our Lady of Guadalupe (Chula Vista), Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (San Ysidro), St. Anthony of Padua (National City), St. Charles (South S.D./Imperial Beach), St. Mary (National City), St. Michael (Paradise Hills), St. Pius X (Chula Vista), and St. Rose of Lima (Chula Vista).

The name FIAT comes from the Fiat of Mary (and her example for us to trust in God),

When the Archangel Gabriel told Our Lady that she was to bear the Son of God and name Him Jesus, Mary completely surrendered herself to the Divine Plan in what is known as the Fiat:
“Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.’ Then the angel departed from her.” (Luke 1:38)

It also represents the acronym Faith, Innovation, Academics, and Team. With faith and innovation we are bringing quality Catholic academics to students through the team effort of all our parishes and schools.
